Monthly Newsletter

Along with the rest of my busy schedule, I founded an English language monthly newsletter for the first time in Bamyan province. The purpose of this newsletter was to promote the English language and to give people a chance to practice reading and writing in English. This was a new idea in our community, and many people were excited to be part of it.

The content of this monthly paper included stories and essays written by street children, university students, teachers, and English learners at Pioneer Institute. These writers shared their dreams, challenges, and experiences in life. Reading the newsletter became interesting for many people because it showed real voices and real stories from our community. It helped readers learn English in a simple way through topics that were close to their hearts.

The newsletter also created opportunities for young writers who had never written in English before. They learned how to express their thoughts, improve their grammar and vocabulary, and communicate with people outside Afghanistan. Some students said that seeing their name printed in the newsletter gave them confidence and made them feel proud of themselves.

An American friend, Nancy Antle, helped us by editing the writing through email from the United States. This support made the newsletter more professional and connected our small project in Bamyan to the international world. It also showed our students that learning English could help them communicate with people in other countries.

For many readers, receiving the newsletter every month felt like receiving a window to new ideas. It was more than just a paper—it was a chance to learn, to grow, and to believe that education can open doors to the future.
