Computer Science Program

Computer programs directly affect every part of our lives. Today, many people all over the world use computers for work, study, communication, and daily life. Knowing how to use a computer is no longer optional—it is necessary to succeed in today’s world. Computer skills help people solve problems, organize information, communicate quickly, and work more effectively.

Because of this, in addition to an English program, I decided to establish a two-year computer science program in Bamyan, Afghanistan. This program gave students the chance to learn important skills such as typing, using office software, creating presentations, working with the internet, and even learning basic programming. The curriculum also included courses such as database management, networking, and web design, so students could build technical knowledge that is used in real professional environments. These skills help students not only in their studies but also in finding jobs, starting small businesses, or supporting community projects.

The computer program also gave students an opportunity to explore modern technology that many people in our region had never used before. They learned how to search for information online, use digital tools to complete assignments, and communicate with people in other cities and countries. Some students even started using computers to write their own essays, create reports, design websites, and share knowledge with others.

For many young people in Bamyan, this program was a door to the future. It showed them that learning computer science is not just about using machines—it is about gaining knowledge, thinking creatively, and opening opportunities that were once impossible. It helped students feel confident, capable, and ready to face the modern world.
